2-1 Malaysia-Japan Meetings
|
The meetings of Malaysia's DID (Ministry of Water, Land and Natural Resources) and Japan's MLIT (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure,
Transport and Tourism) were held in Malaysia between January 21 through 24, 2019.
The purpose was to make more localized and advanced strategy to improve flood forecasting and warning in both countries.
Participants from the two governmental organizations, Japan's ICHARM (International Centre for Water Hazard and Risk Management)
and IDI deepened mutual understanding by introduction of the current flood forecast and warning systems, technical visits and discussion about the future plan.

2-2 Myanmar-Japan Workshop
|
The 5th Disaster Management Collaboration Dialogue Workshop between Myanmar and Japan was held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar on February 6, 2019.
The workshop was based on the MOC (Memorandum of Cooperation) in the fields of Water Resource Management, Water-related Disaster Management and
Climate Change Adaptation between Myanmar and Japan.
More than 70 people from such governmental agencies as Myanmar's IWUMD, DWIR, DMH, DDM, Japan's MLIT, JICA, JBP, ICHARM and JWA attended.
The theme of the workshop was flood management efforts in Bago river basin.
