7th Meeting of Typhoon Committee* Working Group on Hydrology
|
The 7th annual meeting of Typhoon Committee's Working Group on Hydrology (WGH) was held
in Tokyo this year from October 9th to 12th.
The government authorities and the experts from 9 countries (Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam,
China, Malaysia, Lao PDR, Korea, the United States and Japan) participated to share information
on water-related disaster risk reduction. During the meeting, WGH activities including Annual Operation Plans
were discussed.
The participants also visited Sekiyado-jo Museum in Chiba Prefecture and Sakai Town in Ibaraki Prefecture.
*Typhoon Committee is an international organization jointly operated by ESCAP and WMO which intends to minimize damage from typhoons in the Asia Pacific Region.
