2. International Conference, Forum, and Program

Myanmar-Japan Workshop

Disaster Management Collaboration Dialogue Workshop between Myanmar and Japan was held in Naypyidaw, Myanmar on February 7th and 8th, 2017. The workshop was based on the MOC (Memorandum of Cooperation) in the field of Water Resource Management, Water-related Disaster Management and Climate Change Adaptation between Myanmar's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Ministry of Transport and Communications and Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), which was exchanged in February 2014.
About 100 people from the three ministries of Myanmar, MLIT, JICA, and private companies attended. The themes of the workshop were Disaster Management, Sediment Management, Inspection and Maintenance of Dams (Safety Improvement), and Flood Early Warning.
