2. International Conference, Forum, and Program
|
JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program: Adaptation to Climate CHange supported by IDI
|
JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program, "Adaptation to Climate Change (CC)" supported by IDI was conducted for four weeks from September 19 to October 15, 2016.
14 participants from 11 countries (Belize, Chili, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Maldives, Mexico, Montenegro, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, and Samoa) took part in this program to study adaptation to Climate Change of Japan.
The program provided lectures about comprehensive knowledge and techniques for adaptation plan toward CC, climate model and forecast, environmental impact assessment, vulnerability of disaster prevention/ water resources/ agriculture sectors, etc.
The participants also had field trips to such places as Seawater Desalination Plant in Fukuoka, Kitakyushu Global Warming Countermeasure facility, Biodiversity Center of Japan, and an erosion protection planning site on Seisho Coast.
By using the knowledge and information acquired during this program, the participants are expected to promote actions in terms of adaptation of climate change in each country.
