1. Regional Forum gWater for the Americas in the 21st Centuryg, Mexico
Regional Forum gWater for the Americas in the 21st Centuryh was held from October 8 to 11 at Mexico City. The Forum was integrated by three components; Thematic Forum, Ministerial Conference and Forum of Civic Organizations. The future of water management in the Americas was discussed among the participants in each meeting. IFNet Preparatory Unit attended the session gClimate Change and Risk Management associated to Hydro-meteorological Eventsh as a speaker and made a presentation about world flood damage and IFNet. The participants paid considerable attention to the establishment of the network for exchanging information and experiences on floods. In fact, damage of hurricanes is one of the serious problems in Central and South America. Therefore, information regarding flood preparedness, rehabilitation, etc. is very important for them to cope with natural disasters. We also introduced IFNet to those who couldnft attend the session, using the brochures, posters, and CDs.
